Thank you for joining Black Hereford Ranch for our 2024 Cream of the Crop Online Summer and Fall Born Steer Sale. For the ones who haven’t heard of us, we have been raising and selling champion caliber show steers since 1978. We know what it takes to get you in the winners circle. Our steers have WON major shows from coast to coast. We’ve sold 12 Grand or Res. Grands at Houston alone. Also, have won Fort Worth, San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, OKC, Tulsa, Rio Grande Valley, Dixie National, Odessa, and California State Fair; Most not once, but several times, and over 100 Breed, and Res. Breeds at these major events.
Its never too late to find a Champion Quality show Steer at BHR. We know that this stout set of calves will be very competitive at the highest level of competition. You can rest assured that they are sound, healthy and most can be shown by any age group. Even though this outstanding set of future champions are healthy, and about ready to go to their 1st show, we can not guarantee there will not be any problems arise, but if anything does come up we are here to help you in way we can through out the next 11 months to help you succeed!!

While you are here you can look through the 275 bred heifers and the 70 herd bull candidates we are selling Sat. June 8th here at the ranch. This will be our 23rd annual Cream of the Crop Female and Bull sale, and our deepest, stoutest offering to date. They are all here close to the head quarters, and handy to look at. Let us help you Raise your own Champions! Our females and bulls we have sold have produced 10 more Grands or Res. Grands at Houston and several have won these other major steer shows over the years. Some of the most progressive club calf breeders in the country got their start at Black Hereford Ranch, and keep coming back year after year to our annual sales. All bidding and payments are in US Dollars. All funds are to be made payable(personal or corporate check, cashier check, or money order are all acceptable) to STEERBIDDER, 308 Ilion Ave, Chariton, IA 50049; contact Ashlynn Rosa, 515-360-3229, to confirm payment arrangements. Full payment must be received before any lots can leave the property. YOUR CREDIT CARD USED TO REGISTER WILL NOT BE AUTOMATICALLY CHARGED. YOU ARE GIVEN THE OPTION TO SEND PAYMENT. If paying via PAYPAL, an additional 3% processing fee must be applied. Transportation/Shipping costs will be in addition to sale price and will be coordinated with the sellers.
Payment and/or payment arrangements must be coordinated within 1 week of the sale date. Credit card payments will be assessed a 3% fee.
INVOICING: An invoice with payment instructions will be sent to each buyer's registered email address within 24 hrs of the sale ending. If an invoice is not received, please call Ashlynn Rosa 515-360-3229.
DELIVERY OF PURCHASES AND FEES: Each buyer is responsible to coordinate delivery OR shipping and buyer is to cover all cost of shipping. Purchases may be picked up after full payment is received.
CONDITIONS: Any person placing bids on items in this auction agrees to these terms and conditions and understands that, by placing bids, they are entering into a binding contract between themselves and the seller(s) and that they will be held financially responsible for their actions.
Placing a bid is a binding contract between you and the Owner/Seller, and the bid cannot be retracted. Once a Bidder places a bid, and the bid is the high/winning bid, the Bidder will be obligated to buy the lot at the said price indicated. Placing a bid on this online auction site, and winning, then not paying for the lot is illegal in most states, and prosecution can result.
The Owner/Seller of property sold through this online auction site reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
As a Bidder, you are responsible for any bids placed by you or a designated representative under your bidding number and password. The security of your Bidder information is your sole responsibility and the Bidder will be responsible for any and all bids placed under the assigned number. If, at any time, you feel that your Bidder number and password have been compromised you must notify Auctioneer immediately.
Bidders agree that when using the Maximum Bid feature on our online auction web site they will use it according to the terms and conditions applicable to that feature. Please note that when using the Maximum Bid feature, if you are the current high Bidder and you want to change your Maximum Bid, you will be required to place a new bid in the increment designated for that lot in order to raise your Maximum Bid, which may cause you to raise your last high bid by one bid increment. You, as a Bidder, understand and agree to how the Maximum Bid feature works if you choose to use it.
BID RETRACTIONS: There are no bid retractions. ALL BIDS ARE NON-CANCELLABLE ONCE SUBMITTED. Once a bid is made and confirmed, it cannot be retracted. When a bid is made you manifest your intent and ability to buy the lot at the bid price. A false or fraudulent bid may result in legal action. Any winning Bidder who refuses to purchase the lot may be banned from all future online auctions.
Despite efforts to avoid the withdrawal of lots from the auction sale after they are listed, it may sometimes be necessary to withdraw lots, therefore, the Owner/Seller reserves the right to do so at any time before or during the sale.
Privacy Policy: We respect and are committed to protecting your privacy. We may collect personally identifiable information when you visit our site. We also automatically receive and record information on our server logs from your browser including your IP address, cookie information and the page(s) you visited. We will not sell your personally identifiable information to anyone.

HORSE RACE STYLE CLOSING FORMAT FOR THIS SALE! WHEN TIME EXPIRES, ALL LOTS ARE DECLARED SOLD!
ORIGINAL ENDING TIME: 8 PM CST WITH EXTENDED BIDDING TO FOLLOW. EXTENDED BIDDING WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THERE IS NO BIDDING FOR 4 MINUTES.
With this option, all lots will close simultaneously. A few benefits to this style of auction - Buyer has the CHOICE to switch to any lot in the offering if he is outbid on his current choice; buyer does not have to deal with the "seller's order" of sale because all lots are offered and bid on simultaneously; and the buyer has true choices and more time to make decisions.
Extended Bidding means that the auction is not declared closed until there have been FOUR minutes of inactivity on this sale. If there is any bidding during the inactivity period, the auction is extended until there is no bidding for FOUR minutes during the inactivity period. You can always check the time remaining, the information appears under each lot. For this sale, the extended bidding period is 4 minutes.
**Example 1: Auction closes at 6 PM. There is no bidding from 5:56 PM to 6 PM. All lots are declared closed and the sale ends at 6 PM.
**Example 2: Auction closes at 6 PM. There is a bid placed at 5:57 PM. Auction is extended by 4 minutes. No more bidding occurs. All lots are declared closed and the sale ends at 6:01 PM.
**Example 3: Auction closes at 6 PM. There is a bid placed at 5:57 PM. Auction is extended by 4 minutes until 6:01 PM. Another bid is placed at 6:00 PM. No more bids are placed. All lots are declared closed and the sale ends at 6:04 PM.
